Researchers in China have developed a preheating-assisted mechanical polishing process to remove ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) encapsulants from end-of-life solar modules. The technique reportedly achieves an EVA recovery rate of 99% and a removal rate of 9 g/s, while preserving the integrity of silicon wafers.
