TASHKENT — The four-member Saudi informatics team won three international awards at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026), raising the Kingdom’s total number of awards throughout its participation in the competition to 14. Hosted by Uzbekistan from August 9 to 16, the Olympiad brought together 386 students representing 97 countries. Saudi student Mohammed Nasser Al-Asmari, from the Royal Commission for Jubail Education Department, won a silver medal, marking the Kingdom’s first silver medal in the history of its participation in the IOI. Student Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Aiban, from the General Directorate of Education in the Riyadh Region, won a bronze medal, while Saad Bandar Al-Arifi, also from the General Directorate of Education in the Riyadh Region, received a certificate of recognition. RIYADH — The General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) has announced the launch of an anti-dumping investigation into Saudi Arabia’s imports of multi-layer coated cardboard with a grey back and a white or other-colored face, weighing 180–500 grams per square meter and originating in or exported from India and China.The decision to launch the investigation was issued in accordance with the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade, dated November 23, 2022. The law aims to protect domestic industries from injury caused by dumped and subsidized imports, prevent import surges, and defend Saudi exports subject to trade remedy measures.
