RIYADH — Data from the US Treasury Department revealed that Saudi Arabia's holdings of US Treasuries increased by approximately $2.2 billion reaching $142.5 billion in June 2026 compared to the previous monthSaudi Arabia maintained its 17th position among the largest holders of US Treasury bonds. The Kingdom's investments in US Treasury bonds during June were distributed as follows: $108.6 billion in long-term bonds, representing 76 percent of the total, and $34 billion in short-term bonds, accounting for 24 percent.Holdings of U.S. Treasuries slipped to $9.299 trillion in June from $9.371 trillion in the previous month. But compared with a year earlier, treasuries owned by foreigners were up 2.3 percent. Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries slid in June, led by declines in holdings from Japan, the UK and China. Japan continued to rank first among the largest holders of US Treasury bonds at the end of June 2026. Japan holdings fell to $1.116 trillion in June, down 2.3 percent, from May's level of $1.143 trillion. RIYADH — The General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) has announced the launch of an anti-dumping investigation into Saudi Arabia’s imports of multi-layer coated cardboard with a grey back and a white or other-colored face, weighing 180–500 grams per square meter and originating in or exported from India and China.The decision to launch the investigation was issued in accordance with the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade, dated November 23, 2022. The law aims to protect domestic industries from injury caused by dumped and subsidized imports, prevent import surges, and defend Saudi exports subject to trade remedy measures.

This is part of the authority’s efforts to address a key challenge faced by health insurance beneficiaries in recent years.
